What's New?

This year, Chamblee shoppers will find the Honda Pilot has no major updates to its design. There are, however, updates to its trim lineup. The base LX trim is now discontinued, and a new high-end trim called the Black Edition has been added.

Performance

Every new Honda Pilot is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine. This engine produces 285 horsepower and 262 lbs.-ft of torque. Front-wheel drive and a 10-speed automatic transmission are also standard. While all-wheel drive is optional on most trims, the three highest has all-wheel drive as standard.

Design

As a larger three-row SUV, the Honda Pilot is an excellent family vehicle for Marietta or Decatur families, as it can comfortably seat eight. However, by opting for captain chairs in the second row, the seating can be dropped to seven. In models like the Trialsport, captain chairs come standard.

In models like the Touring or Elite, both the bench seating and captain chairs can be removed and stored under the floor to open the cargo area. Looking behind the third row, Alpharetta and Gwinnett shoppers will find a cargo area of around 16.5 cubic feet. However, with the seats down, the cargo area can be greatly expanded to 46.8 cubic feet.

Technology

Throughout the cabin of the new Honda Pilot, drivers and passengers will enjoy the various features. Standard equipment includes a seven-inch infotainment touchscreen, an intuitive and easy-to-operate infotainment system with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and a fully digital gauge cluster.

In higher trims like, a larger nine-inch display is available. The display offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability, plus it controls the 12-speaker Bose audio setup that's offered in the Touring and Elite trims.

Safety

To keep drivers from the Cumming and DeKalb County areas safe, Honda has equipped the Honda Pilot with a host of safety features called Honda Sensing. Honda Sensing gives drivers automated emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, and a driver attention warning system to keep them alert.

Trims

The Honda Pilot is offered in six trims:

Sport: The Sport is the new base trim, and it features ambient interior lighting, as LED fog lights, power-adjustable/heated front seats, and a seven-inch touchscreen.

EX-L: Adding to the Sports design, the EX comes equipped with leather-trimmed upholstery, a nine-inch infotainment touchscreen, and a nine-speaker audio system, and an in-cabin intercom system to communicate with the third row.

TrailSport: This off-road centric trim comes standard with all-wheel drive, increased ground clearance, underbody skid plates, and second-row captain's chairs.

Touring: This trim takes the features of the EX-L and Trial Sport and adds more luxurious amenities such as sound-reducing front windows, a navigation system, a 12-speaker Bose audio system, and a Wi-Fi hotspot.

Elite: As a high-end trim, the Elite comes standard with a surround-view camera system, head-up display, heated second-row seats, and rain-sensing windshield wipers

Black Edition: The new top-level trim comes with 20-inch gloss-black wheels, Black Edition badges, and other blacked-out elements. There's also a black and white interior with red accents scattered throughout, including the steering wheel, seats, and door panels.
